Haygain Forager with ULTRA Regulator

Our ULTRA feeding regulator can be easily and securely snapped into place and is easy to fill. By attaching it to a metal ring on the outside of the cylinder, the grid remains horizontal while it lowers with the consumption of feed.

The base of the robust, durable forager can be filled with sand to provide additional stability and can be attached to the stall wall if necessary. The forager is designed to allow light and air to penetrate the cylinder so that horses can eat as nature intended. It can be easily assembled and disassembled for cleaning and transport.

Horses are herd animals and have a digestive system designed to process small amounts of feed over several hours. In modern horse keeping, the Forager slow feeder supports this natural behavior by extending feeding times without frustrating the horse. More time for feeding means less boredom and stress due to food scarcity, especially in horses with limited forage availability.

By chewing for longer, saliva is produced, which protects the horse's stomach lining from natural acids, thereby reducing the risk of gastric ulcers. The Forager allows the horse to feed in a natural head and neck position. This promotes the drainage of lung-penetrating particles and supports a natural alignment of the jaw, neck, and back while feeding.

By keeping the hay off the ground, the bedding remains cleaner, and less feed is contaminated by being kicked into manure and urine.
